Greetings from North Carolina. This is NOT a test! No snow here so far this winter--but housebound for three days due to an ice storm! Good reading weather and Jack's books are high on my list! Will be checking back to read more comments. A special "hello" to Hobart!

I'm so proud of my cousin. Our fathers were brothers. Jack is so talented. His brother Bob and I were closer in age. Always thought of Jack as the kid. I hope we can keep up our family close. We do live kind of far apart. We only see each other once in a while. Keep it going Jack. Your ammazing. Corky

IT SEEMS I'M ALWAYS WAITING FOR JACK'S LATEST BOOK TO BE PUBLISHED. HE IS A PROLIFIC WRITER WHO RESEARCHES HIS SUBJECT MATTER VERY WELL, OFTEN INTERSPERSING HIS TEXT WITH RELEVANT PHOTOGRAPHS, ENABLING HIM TO WRITE A FACTUAL PIECE IN A THOROUGHLY ENJOYABLE MANNER. D. FREDERICK BERVEN

Jack and I go back a few years to when he started his research on Jesse and the James Gang's 'visit' to southern Minnesota. Writing has been a passion along with reading almost since day one with Jack. Facts go a long way, but without imagination they can become routine and very dull. Composing books is a developed talent of supreme concentration and committment, compare it to inventions and modifications to appease the masses. I marvel at the finished products and have always gotten a true satisfaction from reading each of Jack's compositions. I liken them to an axe honed to sharpness that splits a hair... The subject matter is of interest and the stories are those which need to be told to future generations factually. The time spent learning and writing is a grand benefit to us all. Thank you Jack.

Jack Koblas is a very impressive author. His vast expertise, which seems to have no limit, is evident by the numerous books he has written. Whether he is documenting historical events or places – or profiling historical figures ranging from famous authors to outlaws to Civil War fighters and others, Jack’s research is deep, thorough and meticulous. He is a terrific writer who brings history to life. His talents even include writing children’s books, horror stories and fiction. Jack is an incredibly prolific author. Who can keep track of the books he’s producing? His writing also demonstrates what it means to be a great storyteller. And that extends to his lectures, too. His readers and his audiences are indeed fortunate to experience the works of this true writer. Read Jack Koblas. Listen to Jack Koblas.

Just last month I had a terrible accident that caused me to be off of work and to be stuck at home. My mother brought me a couple of your books, and I began reading them and I can't get enough of your information that you have put into the novel "The Nineth Man". Iam onto my fourth novel of yours and haven't been interested in any others to read!

John Koblas is perhaps the most facts-oriented historian I've ever read. His books are extremely interesting to read, and, unlike other historians, he sticks to historical facts and keeps theories and opinions out, and he does not overwhelm the reader with extraneous verbiage. Where conflicting records and documents exist, he publishes both views so, at no time, are any of his accounts one-sided. I highly recommend his books over similar or related subjects by other authors.

Jack Koblas is a writer who is passionate about his work. He researches exhaustively which results in books that readers can trust to teach them, to entertain them, to leave them wanting more. Anyone who loves history will find his books hard to put down. His new works written for children are "must haves" for any child in Minnesota. Our state's history is important and Jack has written books to capture the attention of even the youngest readers. Keep on writing, Jack. We all want to read more of your wonderful books.

Mr. Koblas' books, especially the James-Younger titles, are perhaps the definitive volumes on the Northfield raid. I am wondering about the three volume set of books LET THEM EAT GRASS, on the Dakota Conflict of 1862. I understand the first volume SMOKE will be out in another couple weeks. I believe Mr. Koblas has dug more deeply into Minnesota history than any other writer.researcher living today. Sir, if you are reading this, please keep up the good work. Thank you.

I have all Mr. Koblas' Jesse James books--I think 11 or so. How he continues to keep coming up with new material is amazing. I particularly enjoyed the ninth man about the mysterious Bill Stiles. I would love to see another. Please keep up the good work. I am reading your LET THEM EAT GRASS first book in the trilogy and enjoying it immensely.

John Koblas is a literary genius of our time. His writing, especially his poetry, is beyond compare. The interesting life he has led, experiences with passion and pain, let the reader glimpse into the golden heart of this man. His books on Jesse James, Sinclair Lewis, F. Scott Fitgerald, J. J. Dickison, Ma Barker and others are so complete, exposing their lives and experiences with incredible accuracy. John has a knack for uncovering details and facts previous writers have been unable to discover, sometimes changing history, telling the real story. John's Doc and Tweed series of childrens books tell stories of the history of Minneapolis and Upstate New York. They not only delight the reader, but make history fun and exciting. He has a desirable writing style, bringing stories alive and drawing you right into the book. They are fast paced "page turners" because you can't wait to get to the end to see what happens next.

I just reading "Ma" The Life and Times of Ma Barker And Her Boys. What a book. You wonder if she was the mastermind of the gang or did she know very little of her sons' activities. I believe that is what makes the book very interesting because it keeps you wondering what will come next.
