carol and susan

Carol Gappa grew up in Mankato and has been playing guitar and singing from a very early age. She has also given guitar lessons for many years.

In 1964 while living in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Carol met Susan Kelly and together they sang professionally for several years on the club and college cirucuits.

Eventually they went their separate ways. Carol returned to Minnesota and Susan decided to pursue an art career.

In 1993 they reunited and recorded Songs for Children of all ages.

At the beginning of 2003 Carol moved to North Carolina bringing along her Minnesota folk music background. In this new home she performs her music on a regular basis while learning songs and styles that are indigenous to the western North Carolina area.

Susan lives in Santa Fe and sells her paintings which consist mostly of New Mexico landscapes and adobe buildings. She no longer performs professionally but but still plays and sings for her grandchildren.
